Thank you for your love and support for Animation Desk. Here are some of the questions you’ve been asking, and we’re here to answer ❤
Q1. Why are the frames overwriting another or deleted randomly?
This is a bug. We test Animation Desk whenever there is a major updated in iOS; however, we are unable to test the app on all kinds of hardware and OS version. We are terribly sorry if you encounter this problem.
If you can, please report this problem via the customer support system in the app. Or even better, send us the ad.package file along with hardware and OS version to helpdesk@kdanmobile.com . Thank you.
Q2. Why are you making me pay to use this app?
After years of development, Animation Desk series now include Animation Desk Classic, Animation Desk, and Animation Desk Ultimate. In Animation Desk, all the basic features are free, you pay if you need the advanced features or cloud storage. We also offer a free trial for all the features and services. Your payment will be used to improve the product and support us to do the testing on different hardware. Thank you for your support.
Q3. How do I duplicate/delete/repeat frames in group and move them around?
We’ve introduced this feature in the update released in May 2016. Please make sure you have updated to a newer version than 5.6. The group-editing feature can be found by tapping on the frames, you can then select frames you wish to make changes to.
Q4. Why do I not have access to my photos and videos?
Animation Desk requests your authorization in order to access your photo and video; otherwise, the app cannot import or export media to your photo library.
To enable Animation Desk to access your photo and video, please go to iPad/iPhone "Setting" > Animation Desk, and enable the album access.
Q5. Where are the sound options?
Animation Desk now supports single track audio file. Simply insert the audio when you export your animation.
For advanced users who are looking for more editing flexibility, we recommend Write-on Video. It's a video editing app for post-production. Add transition effects, subtitles and audio to your animation and turn it into a solid animated film!
Tap on "Export" below your selected project, and choose "Open in Write-on Video", easy as that!
You can download Write-on Video Cloud for free here.
Q6. Where is palm rejection?
We removed this feature in Animation Desk due to a different product design. Currently, palm rejection works automatically when you connect to a stylus - Apple Pencil, Adonit stylus, and Wacom stylus.
Q7. How do I learn about animation?
We’ve received so many positive feedbacks on our recent #AD4EVER Back to Basics tutorial event. You can check the tutorials here, http://anizone.cc/backtobasics
We also list out some of our favorite animation sites in the animation resource section.
Q8. Where is the speed setting?
The speed of an animation depends on the number of frames you have and the FPS. If you have fewer inbetweens (the frames between the key frames), or a lower FPS, your animation is likely to look clunky.
Controlling the speed is never easy. You might feel that an animation is playing too fast. The reasons might be that there are not enough inbetweens to make the transition of each movement smooth. The video might look like a very fast playing photo slides instead of an animated video. To avoid this, please add in more inbetweens and adjust the FPS. If you feel the animation is too slow, you can use a higher FPS. We recommend not to have FPS under 12.
Q9. Why is the window message "Regrant failed! Please purchase software application first" keeps popping up?
This happens when you have more than 2 iTunes account. If you purchased Animation Desk with account A, you will need to stay logged in with account A in order to use the app. To switch your iTunes accounts, go to "Settings" - "iTunes & App Store" and click on your Apple ID to do so.
Q10. Why is the windows message "In-app purchase not allowed" keeps popping up?
If you get hit with a message on your Apple iPhone or iPad that says “Purchase – In-app purchases are not allowed” when trying to buy purchases from within apps, it may be related to a restriction setting on the device.
- From the Home screen, swipe over to the screen with the “Settings” icon, then select it.
- Select “General“.
- Scroll down and select “Restrictions“.
- Type your restriction password. If you don’t remember setting a password, ask anybody else who may have had access to the device.
- Scroll down to the “In App Purchases” option and ensure it is turned “On“.
