As more schools move to hold remote classes amid the COVID-19 outbreak, there are some companies, like Google Hangouts Meet, Microsoft Team, Zoom, Cisco, and Cyberlink, offering free software for institutions looking to offer online lessons. Below are 4 tips to help you most effectively use our solutions when using video conferencing tools for meetings and classes:
Get Prepared (Using Zoom as an Example)
- Launch Zoom on your device
- Start a meeting and tap “Share Content”
- Choose “Screen” from the menu to start the screen sharing function
- Then switch to the PDF Reader app
(Note: Due to the privacy and security issues, you could consider other options if you need a highly private and secure tool for video conferencing, like WebEx, Google Hangouts Meet, and Microsoft Team.)
Turn PDFs into Slideshow
Use the slideshow mode to make presentations or you could annotate the PDF directly.
- Open the PDF version of textbook
- Tap the “More” button on the top right corner
- Tap “Slideshow” to turn on the feature
- You can control slides directly from your iPhone
Write on Your Screen Directly
You can make notes with handwritings when in Slideshow mode.
- Tap on the “More” button on the bottom for the on-screen tools
- Choose pen and color
- Enhance your presentations with scribbling
(Note: The feature is for highlighting the content when using the slideshow mode, and the handwritten notes won't be added to the PDF)
Explain Everything with Screen Recording
You can record all of your on-screen activities with slideshow mode. Then you can choose to save in the local device or upload to your Youtube channel for sharing.
- Enter the slideshow mode
- Tap the “Recorder” on the top right corner
- Enable the access of you camera and microphone
- Start recording
