Aspect Ratio

What is Aspect Ratio?

Aspect ratio is the ratio of width to height of a video. Different social media platforms have different standard aspect ratios. For example, Instagram posts are commonly all in a 1:1 (square) ratio format, while YouTube’s standard aspect ratio is 16:9. Knowing which aspect ratio is the standard for you your desired video upload platform is very important while editing and exporting.

How to Edit Aspect Ratio

Editing aspect ratio can be done in a few ways:

1. Starting a Project

Once you start a new project, you will have the option to choose an aspect ratio for your video. Select your desired aspect ratio, and your video editing will be in that format.

Proceed to editing by clicking the arrow icon in the top right corner.

2. Editing

While editing a project, go to “Aspect Ratio".

You may then select which aspect ratio you would like your video to be in the bottom.
